  3. Chalk Walk - Sidewalk Art

    Calling all artists! Join us on Wednesday afternoon August 15 - as we create a mural of sidewalk chalk art along the Village Park Drive. Artists of all ages and abilities (groups and individuals) are encouraged to register for a square along our mural path. One set of pastel chalks will be provided for each square. Pre-registration is required. Not an artist? Come down to the park at 5:30 to walk the path and view the artist's creations before you take part in the walk and movie night. Location

  5. Chalk Walk - Color Walk

    August 15, 2018, 6:00 PM @ Village Park

    Have you heard of a Color Run? How about giving a Color Walk a try? This one-mile walk will be the most colorful and fun event you have ever been on. As you walk the Village Park route, you will get showered in powdered dye ... turning you into a technicolor canvas of fun! As you cross the Village Park Bridge to the finish line, prepare yourself for a color storm celebration including music and fun. The walk will begin at 6:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required and includes a walk t-shirt and individual powder packs for the finale. This race sells out every year - so don't delay, register today! Ages 2 and under are free.

  10. Brush Pick-up Week

    August 20, 2018, All Day

    Place brush on the terrace by 7:00 a.m. with the cut ends toward the road. Please leave branches as long as possible as this will save you and our crews' time. Brush is considered limbs and branches from trees and large shrubs. All other woody vegetation such as plant stalks, small bush trimmings, etc. will not be collected. This type of material can be taken to the compost site on Highway Q. south of the Village. If you have a contractor trim or prune your trees or bushes, they are responsible for the removal of the brush. Collection begins Monday and is completed within the week when Public Works has gone through the entire Village.

    Take a night hike through the restored prairie and woodland, where we'll stargaze and listen for nocturnal life. (Easy to somewhat moderate hiking, with a short uphill stretch.) Also check out what shows up in the moth theater and visit the campfire for cocoa and treats. No reservation required. Free event.
