2021 Public Works Improvement Projects
As part of the 2021 Public Works Improvement Project, the Village of Waunakee will be resurfacing several streets in Waunakee. The project has been publicly bid and the Village Board awarded the project to Wolf Paving & Excavating of Madison, Inc., from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.
The following streets have been designated for resurfacing:
Hartford Cove from Lexington Drive to Termini
Simon Crestway from South Street to Winston Way
Moravian Valley Road from 504 Moravian Valley Road to 322 Moravian Valley Road
Lexington Drive from N Madison Street to N Division Street
Arbor Court from Presidio Drive to Termini
Canterbury Court from Simon Crestway to Bristol Drive
Kay Drive from William Way to 306/307 Kay Drive
Camelot Court from Knightsbridge Road to Kensington Lane
Raymond Road from Fifth Street to Henry Street
East Verleen Avenue from North Madison Street to Pinehurst Drive
Holiday Drive from Centennial Parkway to Fifth Street
The Contractors will be removing the existing asphalt pavements, completing any street base (gravel) and minor utility repairs (as needed), adding new base material and re-grading the street in preparation for the new asphalt surface. In order to accommodate the construction activities, and for the safety of the workers, we ask that you please be aware of the construction equipment and workers and limit the use of the road during construction hours (7am – 7pm). The roads will be rebuilt one street at a time, and each road will remain open to vehicular travel throughout the project. However, drivers may encounter lane restrictions and possible minor delays during the construction. The Contractor will make every effort to provide access to driveways during the project and at the end of each day. Also, please be aware that travel within the construction zone will be at your own risk.

The Village will be chip sealing several streets to prolong the life of the roadways. For a complete list of streets click here...
Chip Sealing is a pavement surface treatment that combines one or more layer(s) of asphalt with one or more layer(s) of fine aggregate. Chipseals are typically used on roads carrying lower traffic volumes, and the process is often referred to as "asphaltic surface treatment".
Chipseals are constructed by evenly distributing a thin base of hot bitumen or asphalt onto an existing pavement and then embedding finely graded aggregate into it. The aggregate is evenly distributed over the seal spray, then rolled into a smooth pavement surface. It can keep pavement in good condition longer by sealing out water and repairing minor cracks.
