Recreation

The primary mission of Waunakee's Recreation Department is to ensure citizens an opportunity to participate in recreational activities of interest to them. This includes offering programs run directly through our department  as well as working cooperatively with volunteers who manage other exciting programs.

PUBLIC STATEMENT:

Currently, all Village facilities are open to the public for walk-in traffic, no appointment is necessary. Please check with the facility you wish to visit to confirm their hours of operation.

As a public entity, the Village of Waunakee must abide by all current Dane County Public Health Orders as they relate to the COVID-19 pandemic. The current Public Health Order #16 is set to expire on June 2, 2021. Starting June 2, 2021, masks will be optional when entering a Village-owned facility or attending a Village-sponsored event. The Village strongly encourages all individuals (customers, staff, and volunteers) to use their discretion about wearing a mask and make an appropriate decision based on their individual circumstances and comfort level. The Village will continue to encourage physical distancing inside our facilities. The use of public facilities and programs are open to all individuals regardless of vaccination status.

We are optimistic about the direction of the pandemic. The Village continues to monitor the pandemic and may be required to make alterations to this policy as needed and deemed necessary.

Three final reminders: 1) Curbside appointments are available at all Village locations. If you desire a curbside appointment, please contact the facility you are wishing to visit directly and make that arrangement. 2) If you are feeling ill in any way, we ask you to show care for the community by not coming into Village buildings until you are feeling healthy again. 3) We encourage everyone who is eligible to get vaccinated.
