New Home/Business Set-Up

Each property address is allotted one trash and one recycling bin. These bins stay with the property permanently. The cost for this service is charged on your Waunakee Utilities bill each month. For new home construction, you will need to set up the utilities in your name by calling (608) 849-8111. Then you can call Pellitteri at (608) 257-4285 to schedule delivery of your new bins.

Cart Repairs

Should your cart become damaged or you lose a wheel, please contact Pellitteri Waste Systems at (608) 257-4285 to schedule a repair.

Additional Trash & Recycling
Residents may place one properly prepared additional bag of recycling outside of their cart per week without a charge. If you have more than one extra bag, please contact Pellitteri at (608) 257-4285 to prepay for the additional bags prior to your pickup day. The extra bag fee is $3.50 per bag. Please do not overload your carts, the cart lids should shut. Additional recycling, including extra cardboard, must be placed in a clear plastic bag no larger than 32-gallons and no heavier than 50 pounds. Loose cardboard, cardboard inside another cardboard box, recycling in white or black bags, bags larger than 32-gallons, etc. will not be collected.

Additional Carts

If you consistently have additional recycling despite the new weekly recycling service, you may want to consider a larger or additional recycling cart. Please call us for details at (608) 257-4285, or contact us online. The rate is $96.00 per year per additional trash cart, however, you will not be charged a delivery fee for them. Just the annual fee.

Cart Exchange Program

All residences are given 95 gallon containers to start. Residents may request a change in cart size by contacting the Village of Waunakee at (608) 849-5712.  Please be prepared to provide a name, address and phone number, your existing cart size and replacement cart size. The cart sizes (35, 65 or 95 gallons) are indicated on the bins themselves beginning with a T for trash or a R for recycle. There is no fee for this exchange, however cart exchanges are only done once per month. Once you have placed your order you will need to bring your old cart to the Public Works building at 504 Moravian Valley Road any time after the first Monday of the following month to make the exchange. We ask that you call ahead to (608) 849-5892 to make sure there are personnel available to assist you.

Pellitteri also offers a curbside exchange for your convenience. The cost is $45 and the exchanges are done on a weekly basis. Please contact Pellitteri directly for payment and scheduling.
